There is currently a birth control gel for women in development by Antreas Pharma in the US. Right now it is in the early stages of study before it is submitted to the FDA. This is all fine but what's really exciting is that at this current stage it is being proven to be 100% effective. Some other cool things about the Nestorone gel is that it can be applied to the skin anywhere except the head and neck, it leaves no residue, it's ok for women who are breastfeeding, and coolest of all it has none of the side effects of the normal pill.

So far we know that it works by preventing ovulation. That means that it won't effect menstruation.

Anything this awesome must have drawback, but right now life is looking breezy. More choice is awesome! I can't wait to see what comes from this.
