The Durex High Sensation condom’s name is a surprisingly disappointing misnomer. From my experience, the name should be more like “Low Sensation,” or better yet, “Meh.” It may seem harsh, but my only thought as I tossed the used condom in the garbage was, “Eh, I’ve had better.” That is not the thought you want to have after an orgasm. My partner didn’t feel any better about it and actually complained that the ribbing at the base of the condom led to some post coitus irritation. However, during sex there was no discomfort.
The Durex High Sensation condom felt too there… that is to say I felt like it got in the way of the sex. I had a hard time feeling all those nice subtleties of my partner’s orifices that I normally enjoy. Every sensation felt like it happening through a condom, which does not feel as nice as it could.
Even though I have major issues with the Durex High Sensation condom, I could definitely see how this could be useful for someone with premature ejaculation. The sensation deadening effect of this condom could be very useful, but probably not as much as specialized condoms. Often thicker specialized condoms cost a bit more than normal but the Durex High Sensation condoms are priced at $6 per 12 pack, so you’re not spending too much.
The fit of the condom is just as comfortable as any other regular sized condom. It measures 7.5 inches in length and 1.5 inches in diameter. It should comfortably fit anyone whose penis is up to 2 inches in diameter. However, after that you run the risk of it being both uncomfortable and vulnerable to breakage.
One small thing I did like was the color. It has this light, rose pink hue. It reminds me of red Starburst candy. I like Starburst candy… they’re yummy.
Bottom Line: Not my favorite condom, but it will do in a pinch.
