TL;DR Summary: Not all sex toys are made equal. Flawed but worth a try. Cheap at $30. Waterproof. 10 unique settings. Good design.
When the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator arrived here at the Let’s Talk About Sex Den, I was a bit intrigued. The shape of it caught my eye; it looks an awful lot like the Lelo Liv & Elise toys that I have been begging Jerome to order. I was very disappointed to find that my dreams hadn’t come true but was pleasantly surprised by how much that didn’t matter as I held this $30 approximation. Yeah, you read that right $30, a far cry from the $100+ for the Liv & Elise.
Because it’s $30 you are not going to get that same Lelo quality. In fact, there’s a silver ring between the silicone top and the hard plastic bottom that looks like it cost a fraction of a penny to make. There is a thin wire in the battery compartment; it connects the top and bottom of the vibe. I think it is a rather inelegant solution and I worry that it may be damaged during battery changes. Other than that, the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator is of a really great quality.
I took it out the box and played with all 10 settings. I was shocked and delighted by each one! For the rest of the day I was staring at the clock, counting down until I could get home apply the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator directly to my lady bits. Admittedly, my excitement was heightened by the fact that I might be able to throw away my 4-year-old vibrator, which cost a bit more, and only had 3 disappointing settings.
I got home and was still anxious to see the vibe in action… sadly that anxious excitement was dampened as I spent the first 15 minutes fighting to get the batteries to stay in. There is this odd latch with a string that serves as a battery cover, but with the batteries in, it won’t stay closed. Luckily, you won’t have to deal with the batteries too often as the battery life was quite good. I didn’t do a proper test but I estimate you could get about 9 hrs of good vibrations out of 2 AAA batteries (not included).
After all my fussing with the batteries, I felt as if I deserved a good orgasm and um… yeah I got quite a few. The strong vibrations gave me a great buzz inside my vagina, but the different settings really shined when I massaged my clit with it. I know many women like the bullet vibes for clitoral stimulation, but the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator is a much better option. My favorite settings are #4 & #5, but with 10 different settings, you are bound to find something you’ll love.
The Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator also felt great on my nipples, vulva and inner thigh. The silky silicone head travels well on skin.
The two-button controls were simple and easy to use. However, the buttons have gaps around their edges, which made me concerned that it may not be as waterproof as the name implies. I would actually say that I was convinced the gaps would let water seep through and ruin my new best friend. Luckily, I was wrong and got to play in the shower for quite a while. I checked the battery compartment for wetness after I got out of the shower and there wasn’t any. I’m not sure how Sex In The Shower managed it, but I’m happy they did.
Because the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator is silicone it is easily cleaned, with either soap and water, rubbing alcohol or a toy cleaner. Normally I like to boil my silicone toys but since this is a vibrator, I wouldn’t recommend it.
The Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator has a few design flaws that need to be finessed, but overall it’s a great toy. The build quality is above what you would expect from a vibrator in this price category. The elegant design, borrowed from Lelo, really helps make the Sex In The Shower Waterproof Silicone Vibrator an extraordinary device. Though the wire in the battery compartment makes me worry about long-term durability, I would not hesitate to plop down $30 to buy another one if it were to break and you shouldn’t either.
Bottom Line: Not all sex toys are made equal. While it has many flaws, it is definitely worth a try.
