SPUNK PINK IS ONE AWESOME LUBE - REVIEW
After reviewing a series of lube that was just this side of meh, we finally came across a winner in Liquid Silk. Unfortunately for our champion, Spunk Pink Hybrid lube has just come and knocked it off its pedestal. Not only does it manage to look and feel more like actual spunk, it’s the first water-based lube I’ve ever tried that actually outlasts my play.
Spunk Pink Glycerin-Free Hybrid Lubricant ($14.50)
Material: Water, Silicone
Size: 8 oz.
Features: hypoallergenic, non-sticky, non-staining, condom-safe, toy-safe, glycerin-free
Turn ons
Spunk Pink is pretty damn slick. It’s on the same level as Liquid Silk but thicker, which I really liked. That thickness made it feel much better in every application.
Lube is one of the most frustrating products in the world. When it works well, it’s the best feeling ever; when it doesn’t work well, you’re left with chaffed genitals and a sour puss on your face. Spunk Pink Hybrid Lube kept me smiling for quite a while, longer than any other water-based lube we’ve reviewed (yes, that includes Liquid Silk and Sliquid Sassy Booty). The night before I wrote this review, I slept for five hours with a Pink Spunk lubricated Mood Naughty by Doc Johnson butt plug inserted. When I took it out in the morning, it slid right out like I’d just put it in. With the other lubes we’ve tested, the lube gets absorbed into the body and you’re left trying to pull an unlubricated butt plug out of your butt. It also lasted longer than me in my Fleshlight and hand. Spunk Pink is a welcome and much needed change of pace in that arena.
Although Spunk Pink lasts quite a while, it can dry out eventually. I’ve only had it happen a handful of times but it happens, usually only in my Fleshlight Sword. Luckily, it never gets sticky and you don’t have to worry about that glycerin build up. When it dries, it completely disappears; it leaves no mess, just clean feeling skin.
According to the bottle, this silicone/water hybrid lube is “safe for all toys.” I’ve tried it on silicone, glass TPE and Fleshlight material with great success. I recently found out TPE will breakdown when it comes in contact with silicone but didn’t notice any of the telltale signs.
Spunk Pink doesn’t smell or taste like anything, which is good because that means it should be good for oral.
That price is pretty damn good for the amount of lube you get, especially since it’s really great lube.
Turn offs
Why is this Spunk pink? In real life, having pink spunk is a sign that there’s some kind of bleeding in the ejaculatory system. Every time I write or think of the name, my mind scrolls through all the medical reasons spunk would be pink and it’s a bit unnerving.
Some of you will be sad to know that it’s not paraben-free but, honestly, I’m not convinced that’s a big problem. Still, it’s a complete turn off for some people and should be mentioned.
Other info
I’m not a fan of the packaging, it feels cheap. Since Spunk is a smaller company and packaging is really expensive, I’ll give them a pass. It’s really the lube inside that matters. But I do really wish this came in a pump bottle so that it is more sanitary. Although, I disliked the pump bottle on another of Spunk Original, I kind of wish it came packaged with one so I could have the options for usability and the flip-cap to store/travel with.
Bottom line
Without a doubt, Spunk Pink has become my favorite lube. It’s super versatile, long lasting, decently priced and feels great. Besides the packaging and color, which don’t really matter, the only real downside is the single paraben. If that doesn’t bother you, I would most certainly suggest you pick up a bottle for yourself.
