Your question made me lol. Crazy kids.

Okay, I’ve been getting this question a lot because it’s been in the news lately. So, I understand where your panic is coming from.

We’ve always thought that oral sex was the safer way to get each other off. Now we’re being told that if we munch muff or smoke pole we’re going to get oral cancer and die. It’s scary. Luckily, the truth is far less scary than the media has led us to believe.

According the most recent research, people who engage in oral sex are more likely to contract HPV, which can cause oral cancer. These studies specifically mention an increased risk in males and those who use marijuana. I know that may make many of you tokers sad, but harsh your buzz just yet.

HPV is the most common STI in America. Some experts suspect that over ninety percent of sexually active people either currently have the virus or have contracted it at some point in their lives. Even with that there is no real reason for alarm.

The vast majority of those people will clear the virus without any medical intervention. However, there are very small number of people, we’re talking between twenty and forty thousand people annually, will have some kind issue from the strain of HPV that they’ve contracted. This could be anything from warts to cancer.

To protect yourself, the medical professionals recommend that both men and women get vaccinated. It’s one simple shot that protects you from most of the strains of HPV that are known to cause cancer. It's more effective the sooner you get, but you should still ask your docotor about it.

Unfortunately, HPV is passed through skin to skin contact so a condom won't help. But a visual inspection for warts or anything like that on your partner's junk can help ease your mind.

The lesson to learn here is to go see your doctor and get vaccinated. You can help prevent yourself from contracting HPV and spreading it to others.

Hope this helps clarify things for you.
